Basilica Choir

The Mission Dolores Basilica Choir is a dedicated volunteer group of mixed voices under the direction of Jerome Lenk. The Choir provides musical support for the liturgical life of the Parish community, and can be heard regularly at the 10 a.m. Sunday liturgies, as well as major feasts and holy days. In addition to singing for regular weekend liturgies, the Choir performs critically acclaimed annual Christmas concerts as well as a Spring Concert, and on occasion, a Spring Cabaret. The music they perform is comprised of selections that range from Renaissance music and Chant, to Gospel and Spirituals.

The Mission Dolores Basilica Choir has received international acclaim, having performed tours of Italy, Austria, and Mexico. They have been the featured choir at liturgies at St. Peter’s Basilica at the Vatican, as well as at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.

The Choir can be heard on several CD recordings that showcase the range and artistry of the group. A recording of their Mexico tour repertoire was released Christmas 2005.

Membership is open by audition to anyone interested in blending liturgical music and good choral repertoire. Regular rehearsals are Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., September through May. For more information please contact our
